A Trip to Kmart

This past Thursday found me sitting in a place known as The Institute, wherein Mormons of the college variety gather for their stuff and such and so forth. I had nothing to do, as none of my classes at SBCC have homework due for like, three weeks. I was sitting there, and had Facebook open. I was, clearly, doing nothing at all.  Cue the entrance of Marvin, one of the others that can frequently be found at the Institute. He needed to go buy a few things, like a monitor and a space heater, and thus asked if I could drive him to the Kmart that was about three miles (give or take) away. I, knowing that I would be considered a total jerk for eternity if I denied him this ride (as I said, I was clearly doing nothing), agreed. Seconds later, we were on our way to Kmart. We pulled into the parking lot and were approached by a blue car. For a second, we thought it was passing us, but then it became clear that whoever was in the car wanted something to do with us.

College Life!

Well, it seems like summer has just flown by, but at the same time, it’s almost like it was the longest summer of my life. I was in this state of being all excited for college, but also dreading the fact that I’d once again be subjected to long, torturous hours of sitting around doing nothing and being bothered with busy work. Monday, August 23rd, marked my first step into the college word. I was not let down by the experience.

What’s Been Going On?

It’s been about a millennium and a half since I wrote anything. Okay, more like a few months…but still. What have I been doing all this time? This isn’t really a story, just an update really.

Laundromats and Squirt Guns

So this weekend had two interesting occurrences. One involving the police, a laundromat, and singing on the roof. The other, a large roll of kitchen wrap, water guns, and random girls.

My Trip to Lompoc

Lompoc holds a very interesting place in my heart. I’ve got some friends there from church who I hold very dear, but don’t see very often, you know the deal. So when my older cousin, Ben Buchmiller,  decides he wants to take a trip out there to meet up with a mutual friend and mess around I naturally agreed. You’d never have guessed what we’d get up to…well I could, and I knew it’d be a laugh.

So, yesterday I was walking around town before Mock Trial practice, an event I was none to eager for. It was during this time that I witnessed the oddest thing I’ve seen in a while.

Mr. Warrior 2009

At our school Mr. Warrior is the Homecoming King. The Mr. Warrior Competition, as you can more than likely guess, is a talent show in which several students who have been nominated by the different clubs throughout the school compete for the crown. The nominations must be in about three weeks before the show. Around five teachers are then selected, presumably by ASB, to be the judges. I was the nominee of the Mock Trial club, which I hate. Two friends of mine, Dan Gold and Scott Buffon were also selected to take part in the festivities. The rest of the contestants were of what you’d expect, two football players, one of them the captain of the  team, a guy from band, a basketball player, etc. etc.  We all set about trying to figure out what we were going to do.

This Is It

Yes, the blog has been created…however, I now have to either figure out what to write about from the past, or wait for something to happen. I think the latter is going to be the way to go at the moment. Do check back soon though.
